Learning Support Assistant

Learning Support Assistant

We’re looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive education setting, working closely with young adults with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people develop their confidence, independence and skills for the future.

The Role

You’ll provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping young adults access learning, overcome barriers and achieve their potential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting young adults with a range of additional learning needs.

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support in the classroom and wider learning environment.

  • Helping students develop confidence, communication and independence.

  • Supporting students to work towards the outcomes outlined in their EHCPs.

  • Encouraging positive behaviour, participation and engagement.

  • Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals.

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with students.

  • Helping young people develop practical and employability skills.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Patient, understanding and approachable.

  • Passionate about helping young people reach their potential.

  • Confident in building positive relationships.

  • Calm and supportive in challenging situations.

  • Reliable, proactive and adaptable.

  • A strong communicator and team player.

Experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is desirable but not essential. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a classroom support role. You’ll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference at an important stage of young adults’ lives, helping them build the confidence, independence and practical skills they need for their next steps.

If you’re compassionate, resilient and passionate about helping young people succeed, we’d love to hear from you!
